It would be nice to collect "musical quotations" from Beethoven's works in order to understand which parts of the Beethovenian repertoire have made the greatest impact on the musicians who followed him (I am not referring only to the high-culture sphere).
Probably it is a bizarre idea and one that will turn out to be uninteresting... but in the middle of summer, I can well see a nice light topic.

Thinking about movie scenes, the most cited ones are Für Elise and the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata ...only that I don't have links at hand

In my opinion, it is a matter of usage in the sense that it is not a piece performed in concert, but it is not a true musical quotation like in the case proposed by Dante, where a significant part of a piece has been used to create something else by quoting it shamelessly

Frank was referring to the musicians, however....
Chopin's sonata comes to mind as the beginning of 111. And Wendy Carlos with the ninth, but it is not a quotation.
Then years ago there was a hip hop group that used "Moonlight Sonata" as a sample (a terrifying thing) but I don't remember who they are (fortunately). This one too, however, is not a quotation!

In effect, if a piece by Beethoven is heard playing in a film ... it is not a quotation in an opera by another composer...

If I'm not mistaken, there was also a Calzedonia commercial with the notes from the ninth symphony, but perhaps it wasn't a quotation
