Hi everyone, I'm curious to know... what is your favorite musical work?

Tante works are beautiful, indeed, magnificent.. But many of us, probably for subjective reasons, have a favorite work. One that stands above all others.

Which one is it?

I'll start, for me it is Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which I will have the fortune to listen to in Milan on May 9th! The last movement, then, perfectly aligns instrument and human being... it is celestial

Good heavens!

in my map there are many peaks. The Ninth is one of those, one of the highest.

One goes through periods in life. Now I am seduced by Brahms (Second and Fourth Symphonies and Concertos)... some time ago I was involved with Schumann....

Ah!... you shouldn't have said that, friend

When I was young, I would have answered the Ninth without hesitation

Now ... I really wouldn't know what to answer anymore!

Ouch!... you shouldn't have said that, friend

Why not?

Is self-citation allowed?

Why not?

I am unable to give a preference, someone says that a composer's favorite music is their own... I wouldn't know, but I certainly know what not to include: everything regarding tonal repertoire.

If I absolutely had to spend on one title: Messiaen - TURANGALILA SYMPHONY

But lately I prefer works written by very young people, just this morning I discovered such a person to whom I am dedicating many listens.
