Noooooooooooo! I can't believe it... he must have designed this while still in his mother's womb!!
What a feat of ingenuity!

You are great Giovanni....but how did you manage to find it?
But where is Anthares??? Call him....
Musical gym, essentially...

And now what does that have to do with me, excuse me??

He also did this, which is a less strenuous... and more romantic version.
Anyway, it's true.... they are oddities, but as a good craftsman I tell you that one thing strikes me.... the plywood is roughly cut (certainly from the rush to realize the project... a mind with an urgent need... is genius) and therefore in an archaic style... while then the synthesizer arrives... it seems he wants to create a meeting point between archaic mechanics and the intellectuality of a pure, designed machine sound...
Beyond the interest... worthy of praise, I would say..

As soon as I saw the wood, harpsichords came to mind...

Very ingenious indeed....

Thinking about it carefully... it would seriously be a real challenge to create an instrument that somehow gives the performer total control over the orchestra... percussion, winds, keyboard instruments and strings... a chimera that since the time of Cristofori has puzzled the noble classes promoting the new instrument. Curious how in every era one continues to research and research.. who knows what devilry we will still have to deal with.

...I would say it already exists and has for much more than "a few centuries"

Seriously? Are you talking about the organ?

Of course, and if you listen to this piece, in this topic
http://www.pianoconcerto.it/forum/index.php?/topic/1071-olivier-messiaen-improvisations/
... you find in one single person: composer, orchestrator and conductor
Besides, more orchestra than this

From the most complicated to the simplest of instruments. I present to you the "Spacedrum" for minimalist playing, and if you want, you can make Couscous with it at lunchtime
