Does anyone know of texts that deal with arrangements (in particular harmonic progressions) that were generally found in dance music of the 1930s?

I was interested in texts or direct experiences on the subject, but from what I understand we are talking about classical Jazz and the New Orleans style, therefore the procedures used by musicians like Louis Armstrong.
