Bad taste transcends eras and nationalities. In this 1934 German film, dedicated to the life of Chopin, Etude op. 25 no. 11 (somewhat barbarically adapted) becomes first a pretext to reinforce the cliché of the psychopathic genius (the expression at 2/24 or 3/08), then a sort of exaltation of a wretched barricade-style nationalism that would inspire the artist (the trumpets at 3/08, up to the horrific military drum at 4/26).

Vintage can also be disgusting.

What do you say then about this famous scene, which we later find in a remake twelve years later in "A Song to Remember"?
