Hello everyone,
here I am to briefly introduce myself :-)
I am 36 years old and I am in my second year of a music academy in Belgium, where I study solfeggio and piano.
I have noticed that in this academy the expectations are far lower than the studies typically done in Italy, and for this reason I am happy to have discovered this forum in the hope of being able to fill my "gaps" and perhaps even be of help to someone.

Well... it will perhaps be because I haven't lived in Italy for years anymore, but sometimes I like to think that Italian savoir-faire remains unsurpassed... at least in certain fields :-) but I must actually clarify my initial statement: I don't go to a conservatory (if only!) but to a municipal Music Academy... where I pay a pittance (190 EUR per year) to follow a group solfeggio course and one piano lesson per week (50 minutes per lesson and there are two of us). The solfeggio course lasts 3 years + 1 year of "qualification"... the course is objectively slow (we only started studying the bass clef in the second year) and I know very well that miracles cannot be performed with only about twenty minutes of piano lessons per week... but at least I am followed by a teacher... so "better something than nothing" :-) My piano teacher gives me a bit too much carte blanche... asking me to choose the pieces to study... and when I don't, she gives me pieces that are too difficult for my level... in short, we don't follow a program, neither a standard one nor a tailor-made one... and I find myself with many gaps... whereas I would need to be able to see a sort of syllabus to understand where I am and see where I am going... then she claims that "technique is developed by studying pieces" while I think differently: as with language study, I prefer to study the grammar first and apply it to sentences rather than throwing myself into speaking and then "deducing" the grammar... a matter of perspective perhaps...
Anyway, now I will try to open a thread on the forum to find out what you think about certain training paths... in an attempt to create this program that I so desperately need :-)

Yeah, I think I've given my opinions several times on this Forum. Try searching for them. In any case, formulate your questions in the Piano Technique section and I will try to answer you.
