I apologize if I posted in the wrong section, but I don't know where to put it.
Anyway, I am supposed to go play at a wedding in July... it is the first time I am going to play officially... even though I have already played in public but through improvisation because there was a piano in the place where I was at that moment.
The question is.....How much do you charge a pianist?...What does the price depend on??
but what will you play?? for whom will you play?? do you want to start doing it as a "profession"?? I think you should add these details to try to get an answer. ciaooo ๐

Pianist playing a piano or the organ? ... or the keyboard to entertain guests while they banquet?
If it were during the ceremony, prices vary based on many factors:
- Experience
- Repertoire
- Presence or absence of ad hoc arrangements
- Number of instrumentalists ("imposed")...for rehearsals, at least one
- Distance from one's home
- Type of relationship with the newlyweds (Relative, Friend, Client)
- Commercial reasons
That being said, I have seen it range from 50 to 1,500 euros...it's up to you ๐
I agree with those who asked to be more precise, if it were during the banquet... SIAE, etc.
It is the first performance... the wedding is in July, I should definitely perform the Ave Maria and the wedding march... then I will play whatever they ask me... until July there is time to organize.... a violinist will also play with me... I don't know the venue yet... my repertoire is some pieces by Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin............then some songs that I can even invent by ear.....I am not an organist, but I have played on an organ a couple of times and I would be capable of playing in a church too....(obviously I don't know how to play the organ pedals)..........
I believe I have answered with more precision than before....feel free to ask if I haven't been precise enough!
In the event that you were not referring to the ceremony but to the entertainment usually provided at the restaurant, a fee must be paid to SIAE which varies based on several factors such as the number of guests, the repertoire, etc.
But you don't care much about that; it seems to me that you have to play during the ceremony.
That being said, a professional tends to charge from โฌ50 to โฌ70 per hour ... keep in mind that this is your first experience and consider the tax factor (will you be invoicing?)
