I thought about making a proposal to The Simon that I think could be useful to many users of this forum.
The Simon, I propose creating a specific section where users can post completed exercises or exercises to be completed on theoretical musical subjects (harmony, music history, counterpoint, orchestration.....etc). These exercises would then be subject to correction or opinion by both professionals and non-professionals; in this way, even those who are not experts and want to learn a particular subject can do so as self-taught students and still be subject to learning verification even without a teacher. In my opinion, it is a useful way to make musical culture accessible to more people.
In my case, I study piano with a teacher but, in the case of harmony, I am self-taught....and, in fact, I have already posted two exercises in the harmony section that were corrected by other users....but then the files get lost in the long discussion.....what do you say about creating a specific section for exercises (learning verification) ???
Dear Daniele, of course we can open a section like that. I would put it under the educational category. However, I believe that rather than asking me, you should seek consensus from those who will eventually have to grade/correct them.
If you give me the go-ahead, I'll open them... In the end, the forum must shape itself based on the needs of those who inhabit it; on this, I believe there is no shadow of a doubt.
well, since this is a forum of people passionate about music... professionals and non-professionals alike, I believe everyone can correct (if they are experts) or give opinions (if they are not experts but still believe they have expertise on the matter)....then if someone has enough goodwill to volunteer.........
Alright, I'll open it; at most, we can always turn back if we see that things aren't going well or are going too fast! I would still opt for the second one.
For the moment in the teaching section, I am opening:
Exercises -> Harmony
If Frank then wants to migrate his groups to Composition exercises, he will let me know; same practice for the orchestration group.
Take a look at didattica and tell me if you prefer to move everything into didattica or if you are fine where you are. I am making the same request to those who handle orchestration exercises... AleGozzo seems to me...
I can only give an opinion; if the contents were varied by subject, I would read: "harmony, music history, counterpoint, orchestration.....etc"
Better in didactics; if instead there were a focus on composition in general or a specific topic of composition, it makes sense to have a section under composition. But I don't think that is the point.
Honestly, I haven't followed the matter closely; if I understood correctly, there is confusion between comments and assignments. The ideal would perhaps be, in this specific case, to open a topic for each assignment (pdf or similar content in the first post) and then follow with comments for those who wish to do so...
Besides, the comments will mainly serve the interested party; there are no assignments from different people, so every comment will be categorized within that precise topic for that specific assignment.
If people then like the idea of having a harmony exercises section, where only harmony exercises from forum members are posted... then just do it
Agree among yourselves, that's exactly what I was asking. Since there are also those who do orchestration exercises, I thought about putting everything into teaching, since the workshops have educational purposes in addition to obviously artistic ones.
Regulate yourselves, otherwise we can leave everything as it is...
