What do you think about the ABS-Carbon construction mechanism?
I have been told that it is better than the wooden mechanism.

I have expressed my opinion on ABS - Carbon in other posts. I am quite opposed to it

I asked this question because I would like to buy a new upright piano.
I was thinking of getting a Kawai, but I saw that all the new models are made of ABS-Carbon

I realize. Personally, I find it difficult to follow these mechanics. Besides not being exempt from greater vibrations, it is difficult to replace their pins. The relative humidity absorbed or released is solely the responsibility of the cashmere gasket of the levers, since there is no wood. The purpose of such mechanics is primarily to have less mass to move and therefore greater agility of the mechanism. Pros and cons.....

What do you mean by "greater vibrations"?
Are they vibrations that can negatively affect the sound?

Mine is certainly a personal opinion. Steinway has patented a type of shaped forcola that eliminates even more vibrations during impact. It is not a whim or a coincidence. The Steinway action is truly "firm," tight against any stress. It seems that good results are obtained which, surely, do not depend solely on this patent... but also. I have already argued in another post, recalling "wooden tennis racket" and "carbon tennis racket." Anyone who has played with both understands the difference. To cushion or "kill" the stroke means to conserve energy for the response... but carbon seems apparently very easy and light. Over time, many conflicting opinions emerge... time will also decide regarding the use of carbon in piano actions. Let's say that for an upright, "ease" and smoothness might prevail in contrast to the requirement of more continuous energy....It is a bit difficult to argue with words alone
