The canvases I have chosen are by Emil Nolde, for the dramatic character of his painting. He produced mostly mystical works, in which space, form, and color lose all descriptive function to assume an autonomous expressive value. These are characteristics that match perfectly with the sonic and harmonic characteristics of the pieces I have posted, in this case and in other cases such as in the "Chromatic Studies" where Harmony assumes an autonomous descriptive value not connected to harmonic elements of a tonal or modal character.
