Hello,
this piano belonged to my uncle who was a musician, so it has been played a lot, though only indoors (since 1942 it has only undergone one move).
The general condition seems good to me. The keyboard is very soft and many keys have play (they wobble) vertically, and a couple of them have cracked ivory.
I wanted to know if anyone can recommend someone in Milan whom I could contact for an opinion and a possible eventual restoration.
I read on the official Bechstein website that for restorations, one of their most common problems is having to remedy bad restorations carried out by others previously. So I asked them who I could contact in Milan. They replied to contact their representative in Italy www.fabbrini.com
But they are in Pescara and visiting the site, they seem to be only a Steinway representative!
