hello everyone,

i need to purchase 2 wireless microphones for my school. please, could you give me some advice/suggestions/indications regarding this?

hoping to play it safe, I would opt for the SHURE brand, of which 2 models in particular have caught my attention:

SHURE BLX24RE - SM58:

SHURE GLDX24 - SM58:

personally, I have never owned one; I am not completely able to evaluate the respective technical characteristics; in any case, they would be used in teachers' meetings and during school musical theater performances. therefore, generally speaking, I would opt for medium-level quality (meaning nothing particularly professional and expensive, but not even an excessively trivial and poor-performing toy). what do you think? perhaps could you suggest microphones of a different brand as an alternative to SHURE? (I have also heard good things about SENNHEISER and AKG).

waiting for your advice....

good music and a good summer to everyone

Hi Scala, I just got back home, a bit tired. I'll reply to you in the next few days as soon as I have a moment of respite. Remind me if it should slip my mind...

to tell you the truth, simone, besides the 2 wireless microphones, my principal has also asked me to suggest a sound reinforcement system, for the same purposes: faculty meetings & various musical-theatrical shows. i have identified the following set:

mixer yamaha mg16xu:

powered speaker yamaha dbr12:

what do you think? can the mixer and speakers work well together? i know the mixer quite well, i've used it other times and I don't dislike the performance. anyway, I eagerly await your precious verdict! ;-D

see you soon

They are fine for the uses you need to make. Rather, I would like to understand the budget for the wireless microphones

ok, thanks a million, simone!

i don't know the budget myself; a small sum was collected during a school market; it will surely be supplemented by drawing from school resources but currently, I believe that even my boss is unable to evaluate how much we will actually be able to spend.

thanks again and have a good summer!

One would need to know the budget, because you see... wireless microphones range from a few dozen euros up to several thousand. The variety is very wide. Keep in mind, however, that for a wireless microphone worthy of being called such, you must spend at least 3/400 euros. Below this figure, you have microphones that cause many problems, e.g.: they are susceptible to electromagnetic fields, they are very noisy, omnipresent hissing.

AKG has something good at affordable prices, for example the WMS 470 D5.
