Hello pianists!
I am considering the purchase of a grand piano exclusively to have an instrument with a satisfying sound. I should preface that I am not a professional; for me, playing is exclusively a passion.
In a local shop, I found the following opportunity: YAMAHA G2E (about 50 years old) has two pedals but is kept in perfect condition because, according to the seller, it belonged to a cultural association and was only used for sporadic concerts. Before every concert, it was tuned and serviced by the aforementioned sellers.
After having inspected and tried it, I can say that indeed the cabinet is perfect and the mechanics are no less so. The seller guarantees it for 2 years and has asked for a price of 7200 euros including transport.
Advice? Does it seem like a good price to you? Are there other aspects to consider that I am missing?
I know that for a little more (about 10000 euros) I could get a NEW entry-level YAMAHA or KAWAI grand piano, but mechanically, according to this seller, these newer models are inferior compared to the G2E.
I thank you in advance for your expert opinion
