Fate is ridiculous: Albinoni is known for the famous "Adagio" (which is not his), while no fewer than fifty of his operas -which, judging by their otherworldly melodic vein, could be absolute masterpieces- were destroyed in the bombing of Dresden.
It might just be my imagination, but in his concerts, and in those of Vivaldi and Benedetto Marcello, I feel the soft, solar and melancholic color of lagoon skies, of their lands....
