Everyone reads what they want to (or can) in things ... so many points regarding the world of music are touched upon and, as always, these are moments of great reflection... each person's own.

The elements required for one to actually be a composer, that is, one is a composer if:

They write their own pieces

There are performers ready to play them

They have an audience

There is criticism

They have a recognizable style

Note, I did not speak of content…I leave that to the composers.

Ok, but these reflections do not depend directly on the article... I mean, it's not an essay on the requirements a composer should have, but it only tells a matter of "current events"...

It depends on how, what, who and when. Otherwise, anything goes.

Can I say what I think about Allevi?

Honestly, I don't care one bit about Allevi. He does his job and has a group of people who follow him strenuously.

What I contest, however, is the fact that he presents himself as the composer of new classical music. Allevi's music is not classical! Period! I would say it is POP for piano.

We have said that his profession is being a composer; people may like it or not, but everyone has THEIR own profession. So why then substitute for an orchestra conductor in the concert at the Chamber of Deputies? What I absolutely cannot stand about him is the absolute lack of humility, and for this reason alone, a person can never become a great.

Third and final objection, looking at him as a composer (I am not a composer, but I have ears to listen, and the same thing is suggested to me by composition teachers of a certain age who surely have musical culture to spare), many of Giovanni Allevi's compositions are more similar to the exercises of someone in their second year of composition. Looking at it from the point of view of pianistic skills (a field that concerns me), I must say that he is nothing special both at a technical and interpretive level, just to say that there would be a line of more deserving people starving to take his place at the pianistic level.

And enough with this Allevi, I will never repeat these considerations of mine again. Allevi continues to be undeservedly on top of the wave also thanks to these discussions...
