So, I have decided to publish this version of what, in theory, I predict could become a cantata, of which this piece is the overture.

I spent a lot of time writing it, if only because the idea dates back about 7 years ago; I then "abandoned" it until late 2013 (up to the 2:13 mark), picking it up again at the beginning of 2015.

There are 2/3 notes to review regarding the oboe and cello parts, but only in terms of the feeling I had while listening to it; technically speaking, intuitive writing always prevailed in the end (there's no getting out of it).

I used soundfonts for the audio and unfortunately this means that, especially in the "fast" parts, the sound attack is inadequate and so it seems as if some instruments are not even present, whereas there are continuous crossings between the instruments, precisely to give continuity to the whole.

I used the harpsichord to represent the choir part.

I calmly declare that I was inspired (rhythmically) by a Bach cantata; therefore, if anyone finds any "similarities," it will be a deliberate effect.

Obviously not copying, but giving the feeling that it reminds one of something familiar—this (in addition to writing a piece of this type) was my intention.

In the finale, unfortunately, the viola part "freezes," in the sense that I did not perform a fade-out; it is not a problem anyway.

Hi Maurizio!

I listened to you, interrupting another Maurizio who was playing "The Well-Tempered Clavier" by that composer whom you draw inspiration from.

I am one of those who thinks that every music has its own right tempo, but if your aspiration goes in this direction, you are right to give it priority.

In reality, what I wanted to tell you is that I listened to you, ... naturally for what it's worth.

Was it an unwelcome interruption? Given the comparison, I would have no doubt about the possible answer.

It is always a pleasure when people (especially those interested in music) listen to what you do; after that, the rest is just the good or bad impression one might have.

I have sketched out some attempts at slightly more articulated music, let's say personal, but as usual, it takes me quite a while before I manage to define a work (practically always for extra-musical reasons).

This is the version with the harpsichord continuo and the piano which serves to distinguish the choir part. It sounds a bit better than the other one.

(keeping in mind that I need to review some passages).

The other day I thought about what Daniele wrote regarding music and its time; my thought is this: I think that today we are not facing a historical period or context in which there is an existing current of expression from which to learn and draw one's own conclusions, but on the contrary, as we all know, there are now so many multiple ways to express oneself in music, that the only needle on the scale is the composer (whether professional, amateur, or enthusiast) who chooses or feels naturally inclined toward it.

I want to clarify that this is not a polemic, but rather my own observation regarding the "path" I have taken so far (a very irregular path full of "dry spells").

I too am attracted to certain contemporary music, and even though I would be inclined to try to do something, at the moment I set out to write, what prevails is what (fortunately, not having obligations) I am and what I feel the need for.

Over the years everything has reversed; with the increase of my state of difficulty, I began to aim for a writing style that is more (as they say) sparse, whereas before it was much more chaotic and dense.

"In fact" (as is my habit in every field, because I like to do things myself and find solutions that are not borrowed, whenever I can), I had started creating different symbols for instrument articulations (after seeing the existing ones)—I am talking about symbols similar to those used in contemporary music—then I no longer attempted to write "differently," mainly because it is necessary (for me) to have greater control and awareness in knowing where one wants to go.
