Good morning, I am here to ask with which analytical methodology you would approach Lieder and specifically those of Schubert.
Do you know if there are specific texts on the subject (also in English)?
Thank you in advance

Great, I am adding Schubert Lieder and choral works, all texts translated by Stefania Santandrea
Moby Dick publisher.

It is interesting to analyze a traditional work with a very modern approach, but I don't know... how useful. For Gagaku, you can find an example on Bent

I read this book some time ago, interesting, worth knowing. A pity about the various inaccuracies...
I would like to point out a recently translated text published by Astrolabio
Thrasybulos G. Georgiades
SCHUBERT. MUSIC AND LYRICS
The Lied and the structure of Schubert's music. Edited by Maurizio Giani

An obligatory step

I had missed this post
For example, some Lieder are analyzed in keys different from the original one and it happens that there is some blunder, but as I was saying, I believe it is a text worth knowing.
