Hello,
I inherited a baby grand August Forster piano from a distant relative that needs some repairs: a couple of keys do not sound (they stay down) and the ivory coverings of some keys have come unglued (they are not lost, just detached). I would like to know if it is worth repairing it and what the value of the piano might be.

Starting from the serial number, I discovered that it was built between 1953 and 1960. And that it is a 170 grand piano.
I understand that the value depends on the condition and that only an expert can evaluate it correctly, but for the moment an indicative figure would be sufficient for a piano of that model and year of construction, assuming that the piano is perfectly functional.

It is difficult to give an evaluation from a distance. One needs to see the actual condition of the piano. A grand piano is intended for a pianist or an advanced student. Therefore, it must function well. Anyway, I sent you a message with my number. You can call me.
