Hi Simone,

first of all, thank you for the availability of the forum.

I am new to the Logic platform, coming from 8 years of Cubase (last vers. v5); I have already familiarized myself with 90% of the settings and configurations, but I find myself facing a major dilemma regarding group channels and buses.

In Cubase, I was used to creating a group channel (e.g., Kick and Bass) where I would send the signals to the group, and from the group itself, I would insert my filter; very easily, thanks to the R and W keys, I would create my automations which I could find simply by clicking the small arrow at the bottom in the group channel box.

I also used this system for the drum group channel and FX, upfilter.

Can you please tell me how I can see the automation if I create a group channel or send a signal to a send, because I really need it.

thanks a lot

There is no need to use sends on the same bus to group channels. Channels are normally mixed; once you have reached the mix you like, you can simply go to the Mixer at the bottom. Select all the channel strips you want to group by holding down the Shift key. Then, just go to one of the selected channel strips and in the I/O section, just above the automation modes, there is a dark gray box. Click and hold on this box for a few seconds and assign a group to the tracks. Simultaneously, a screen will open where you will find the checkbox corresponding to the group number you have selected checked. By clicking next to the box, you can enter a name for the group. At the bottom, you will find other checkboxes where you specify which types of automation should be included at the group level. Once the settings are confirmed, automating the volume of one track will also automate the others, thus performing an automation operation on the group.
