BACH'S ORGAN WORKS IN THE CREMA TERRITORY.
START OF THE SECOND CONCERT CYCLE
Five concerts on October 4, October 25, November 8, November 15, and November 22, 2013. The inaugural concert is entrusted to Maurizio Croci, who has already performed the complete Bach organ works in Bern. Two "new" venues for the concerts: the former Folcioni and the parish church of Capergnanica. A total of 4 concerts will feature vocal interventions (2 choirs and two solo sopranos) for the presentation of the numerous choral melodies elaborated by Bach. Two Cremonese organists are present in the review: Alessandro Lupo Pasini and Simone Della Torre. Giampiero Rosato, professor at the Conservatory of Udine, and Marco Ruggeri, titular organist of the Cremona Cathedral, complete the prestigious lineup of performers.

Maurizio Croci was born in Varese. Having graduated in organ and organ composition and in harpsichord at the conservatories of Milan and Trento, he later specialized at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Jean-Claude Zehnder and Andrea Marcon and graduated in Musicology at the University of Fribourg under the direction of Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini. Having won a prize at the Innsbruck International Organ Competition, he carries out an intense concert activity throughout Europe, Russia, and Japan. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his death, he performed the complete organ works of J. S. Bach in Bern.
Since 2005, he has been a professor of organ at the Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) in Lausanne and of harpsichord at the ancient music department of the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan. He is regularly invited to give masterclasses (St. Petersburg Conservatory, Organ Festival Holland, Escola Superior de Música in Lisbon, Yugakan Ishinomaki, Tokyo, etc.) and as a member of international competition juries (Alkmaar, Toulouse, Landsberg, Borca, Premio delle Arti, etc.).
He has recorded for radio and television (RAI, SDR, RNE, RSI, RSR) and published CDs dedicated, among others, to G. Frescobaldi, J. S. Bach, G. F. Kauffmann, G.F. Haendel, D. Scarlatti, A. Soler (in duo with P. van Dijk), and the organ school of southern Germany. Recent works include: a monographic recording dedicated to Andrea Gabrieli (RSI - Rete Due), works for two organs for Radio National de España (live recording with P. van Dijk). At the head of the ensemble Il Pegaso, which he founded in 2012, he recently made a recording of unknown pieces by C. Monteverdi and G. Frescobaldi, in their modern first performance, which received prestigious recognition from international critics (5 Diapason, **** Classica, nomination for the International Classical Music Awards 2013). He is the titular organist of the Basilica of the Holy Trinity in Bern (since 1997), where he promoted the construction of the new Marco Fratti organ in the Italian baroque style, inaugurated in 2008. Founder and artistic director of the Académie d’Orgue de Fribourg, he represents Switzerland on the artistic committee of the E.C.H.O association (European Cities of Historical Organs). Cantores ad nives was formed in December 2002, as a group of friends loving the poetry of Bepi de Marzi and the message to humanity that his music spreads. Today, the octet's subject of study is predominantly Renaissance repertoire, both sacred and profane. The members of the octet have performed concerts in northern and central Italy,
Austria (Vienna, Melk Abbey), Germany (Oettingen, Waldsassen Abbey) and participated in the Early Music Festivals of Faido (Switzerland), the Tuscan Early Music Festival, the “Suoni entro le mura” review at the Vignola Castle, and the Grandezze e Meraviglie Festival of the Estense court (Modena). They have also collaborated with internationally renowned musicians, such as Pietro Pasquini, Michele Barchi, and Luca Lucini, with whom they recorded their first CD, “Musica Sacra” (2005).
