I suggest the Andante from Barber's Violin Concerto, which is disconcertingly beautiful... a very free composer, because he is distant from any apologetic attitude.
Thinking of the Brahms Concerto (2nd mov) ...the initial oboe solo (wonderful) makes life rather difficult for the violinist ... here an Ehnes who is more than excellent
