Beethoven at the harpsichord

personally they don't inspire me at all... if I can even tolerate no. 1, op. 27..... no thanks...

However, this objection is sensible:

At the beginning of the sonata, Beethoven specifies, in Italian:

“Si deve suonare tutto questo pezzo delicatissimamente e senza sordino”

(This whole piece must be played very delicately and without dampers),

the realization of which presents, paradoxically, interpretative problems especially for musicians using modern-style pianos.

Excuse me, but does without a mute not mean with 3 strings?

Tiger this is one of the reasons why I definitely prefer Mozart and Beethoven first and foremost on period fortepianos Streicher Walter etc...
