Dear friends,
once again you surprise me (though I knew of your sensitivity) with your exquisite kindness. Well yes, I am still a young man of 49 years. I am not so much a youth chronologically as, when I look back, I see that the work that has been done in these 11 years is actually nothing more than a scratch on the enormous planet we are exploring. Many things have been done during this long period. Working 11 years in a row on an enormous project brings great hardships and satisfactions. Not to mention the Bonn concert. However, what I feel compelled to say today is that the most beautiful thing I have received from the Internet is not so much the research that has been done or that I have been able to access, but it is having met so many people who have demonstrated their esteem and solidarity to me. I have met other people who have helped me, and are still helping me, in the development of the site, including on this forum. To them and to all of you, I am always grateful for the wonderful welcome you have extended to me. Sometimes I must say it beyond individual merits. All of you deserve a special mention but, not being able to do so individually, I will thank you all. And it is not one of those phrases people say when they are gratified and honored like I am by your friendship, but it is an emotion that comes from the deepest part of my heart.
