Dear all

What are the largest stores where one can try different brands, especially European ones? ...I have the impression that everywhere you can only try Yamaha and Kawai!

P.s. excuse me if this is a question already asked or obvious, but I searched without finding anything.

It depends, where do you live?

Years ago there was Zin musical instruments near Padua; I remember it had a decent display of pianos, but my memories might not be clear.

In Rome there is Cherubini but not only that, there is also Musicarte, Bontempi and near via Cavour another shop whose name escapes me now.

Then there are others that do not have a website, however.

Musicarte had quite a few pianos years ago; thanks to the downsizing of the synthesizer department, they had expanded the acoustic instruments one.

It is almost useless for me to tell you to check on mercatinomusicale, because you will have already seen it.

I live in Sicily but I have no hope of finding large exhibitions here....so I must identify a reliable shop outside....and then go there..now I am looking at the ones you indicated to me..thank you very much

I believe Piccinesco meant Alfonsi when referring to the shop near Via Cavour. It is undoubtedly the best-stocked shop in Rome. I believe there are at least 100 pianos to try. I went there once to choose a piano for rental for the University of Tor Vergata for a concert; I spent practically the whole afternoon testing them. They also have Steinways.

Thank you!! You have dusted off beautiful memories... Alfonsi and musicarte (I couldn't remember the names) I used to frequent them when I went to my teacher's.... so they are still large and maintain a good variety (they don't only have Yamaha?)!?! I think I will organize a nice trip!! I can't wait!!

Here in Sicily there aren't many shops and they are small, with only Yamaha inside!
