In the post "One or two pearls for Christmas?" I uploaded the sheet music of Carl Tausig de L'espérance, Nocturne varié Opera 3, followed by its performance by Michael Ponti.
On second thought, I have now decided that it is better to put all the sheet music here, even if, sometimes, I also include them in my posts.

Here I briefly remind you that Tausig was a pianist and composer of Polish-Jewish-Bohemian origin who lived in the second half of the 19th century and died, very young, at only twenty-nine years old. Very early on, his father introduced him to Franz Liszt, of whom he became the favorite pupil; Liszt would dedicate to him, among other things, the piano transcription of the famous Mephisto Waltz. Tausig was also highly appreciated and a great friend, of both Brahms, and Wagner, who wanted to write his epitaph.
Tausig is known, more than as a composer, especially as a pedagogue; this is due to the notable influence of his didactic works, such as the 2 Études de concert and the Tägliche Studien; he is also known for his numerous piano transcriptions ranging from Bach to Weber, as well as for his exceptional virtuosity and his interpretations of Chopin, a composer whom he greatly venerated, as can also be seen from the composition I am presenting to you, .
It is, I believe, the one that best shows the qualities and suggests the potential of this life, unfortunately cut short while still young, through the initial invention, full of composed and melancholy grace, which is then enriched by a delicate elaboration, rich indeed in some technical difficulty, but also and above all in a great musical breadth.
