The news is important, but it isn't circulating as much as it deserves: during the council of ministers meeting on November 8th, the discussion began on a new bill to give the Government "broad delegation for the reorganization of education, university, and research". The scope of the "reorganization" includes crucial aspects: recruitment and careers, funding, university fees, autonomy, and the regulations of schools and universities. If this law passes, the government will have the power to rewrite them independently, without further parliamentary votes, completely removing this reform from what little political debate still remains in the Italy of broad coalitions.
