Hello everyone, I have just started studying piano, and I intend to purchase as my first digital piano a Casio Celviano AP 260.
Tall the shops in my city (there are only two) did not have this model, but I tried another Casio model, which should have the same keyboard; honestly, knowing nothing about pianos, I wouldn't know how to express any judgment. For comparison, I tried the keyboard of an upright acoustic piano, and the keyboards of two Yamaha digitals in the same price range; as I said, I wouldn't know how to express myself, I didn't try them much but I can't grasp the differences.
Since I don't have anyone who understands it to ask, I did some research on the internet.
From what I have read online, for its price range it has a good keyboard; on the other hand, the sound is not great (competing models in the same price range, for example Yamaha, turn out to be better), but in my case it's fine, because I prefer a better keyboard and worse sound rather than the opposite.
The piano in question can be found for 650 euros new.
If anyone on the forum owns it or has tried it, I would like to read some opinions or reviews.
Hi, I haven't tried that model but I had a Casio and personally the sound bored me over time. If the sound isn't full and dense, it bores you. I wouldn't put the sound in the background. Listen, for example, online to the sound of the Yamaha CLP 600 (I attach the link) which should also be from the Clavinova series with Bosendorfer sampling, and then make a comparison with other pianos; these are pianos that stay at a price ranging between 4,200/3,700 euros.
I will almost certainly get this one (after having tried many) as soon as I am able to.
Anyway, for a lower price range, I also recently tried the CLP 635 with the usual sampling and a much lower price range, around 1,500 euros.
A piece of advice... don't rush and test things well. Once you have decided online with the various audio parts, go to a well-stocked showroom where they will let you try everything you want.
