Dearest Pianoexpert, looking at some photos of the frame of the Bechstein grand piano, I noticed that the design of the metal plate does not feature the traditional drilling for the pedals, but instead leaves a transverse space where the actual wooden soundboard is exposed...........is there any technical reason for this???
