the metric scanning of the last verse doesn't seem right to me:

1) -lud in illud is short

2) A- in ave is short

3) -ca- and -to- in peccatorum are long

therefore, in my opinion, the last verse should be read like this:

sùmens ìllud avè, peccàtorùm miserère

Furthermore, in the third verse, the 5th accent is missing on the word quae"},

you're right Roberto, I had already corrected the last one when I posted this scan on the other forum, but in reality I didn't check the dictionary and I still had some doubts.

So the correct scan is

_ U U _ _ _ _ _ // _ _ U U _ U

_ U U _ // _ _ U U _ // _ _ U U _ U

_ U U _ // _ _ U U _ // _ _ U U _ U

_ _ _ _ _ U U _ // _ _ U U _ U

_ U U _ // _ _ U U _ // U U _ U U _ U

_ _ _ U U _ // _ _ _ _ U U _ U

sorry, I don't look at the workshops section often :-)

i was simply referring to the Latin dictionary. Latin metrics are based on the "quantity" of syllables, and you can find indications regarding this in the dictionary.

Do you know if anything valid can be found online? ... I usually go by ear, experience, and rely on expert acquaintances (in case of doubts)... but I admit it would be very useful

Non lo dico

I would be at my first experience with the choir, words like "redemptoris" will cause me a crisis, is it divided like this Re-demp-to-ris?

I hope it doesn't turn out to be a mess but I want to try, I've been following you for a while and if I understood correctly this is the next proposal.

However, I don't have the possibility of having the piece recorded by a choir, what is expected? I saw that you provide sheet music or mp3, should I make a piano reduction?

Yes, don't publish before the end of July. Maybe we can talk via PM

In the past, someone has proposed reductions in score. I can't think of anyone who has recorded live, other than playback performed by programs like Finale or Logic and alternatives.

You decide, if you have difficulties, let me know.

Take a look also at a previous edition

I participated as a novice since last year ... I won't even tell you the results

I even got wrong the position of the text that should be written under the notes, and not above. Take note!

I am dividing the word Redemptoris as you hypothesize, I find the syllable "to" more convenient, rather than "pto"; thinking about Italian instead, perhaps the opposite is better. Well, you've made me doubt.

True, but I want to self-criticize. When it comes to choosing ... no one shows up in the polls, myself included
