They told you a lie. Rewritable DVDs can be erased and rewritten n times. Normal CDs / DVDs can be written only once. Leaving the session open does not mean that you can rewrite that DVD; it just means that you can add data up to a total of 4.7 GB for Single Layer, 8.5 GB for dual Layer. If you are copying a 4.5 GB DVD, the session is closed automatically (in case of copying), but even if you managed not to close the session, you would only have 200 MB left to add data...
No wait, they didn't tell me a lie, I only wrote what I actually did myself; I forgot to specify that, as you rightly wrote and clarified, multiple sessions can be made until the DVD limit is reached, but it also happened to me to see a mastering session cancelled and be able to try again from scratch, without having "consumed" any MB of the DVD; with this I meant those cases where it was possible for me, but not with every DVD.
Then yes of course, with rewritable ones you can do many overwrites and additions, I used them for years and they came in handy when hard drives literally died.
I am avoiding opening another topic because the subject is always EWQLSC and its connections: the Maple virtual ports used to interface the wordbuilder with the library when used in Finale only work on 32-bit operating systems; is there something analogous for 64-bit systems...? One more reason to switch to the Play version....
The Maple virtual midi cable is a midi driver for Windows (95/98/Me/2000/XP/Vista/Win7, 32 bit only) that can connect any midi applications on your system. At this time 64 bit versions of Windows XP/Vista/7 are not yet supported. Maple virtual midi cable is freeware- you are very welcome to donate below if you like it.
If you require more ports than the four default input and outputs, you can install Maple Extra Ports after the Maple Virtual Midi Cable for a total of twelve ports. If you're not sure if you need extra ports, then you don't need this.
