Good evening everyone, it is the first time I am writing in this forum.
I recently started playing the piano; I have just purchased a Yamaha p125.
Unfortunately, living in an apartment building, I cannot play until late at night and, therefore, I would be opting for the purchase of a pair of closed-back headphones to use for this purpose.
I have seen various models, including "Sony mdr-7506, beyerdynamic 770 pro and 880 pro, and many others"; but, not being a sound expert, I decided to seek advice here.
I would like to stick with headphones that do not alter the sound too much, leaving it as "clean" as possible, so as not to ruin my listening experience.
First of all, an important clarification that will already rule out one model if you are looking for closed headphones: the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro are semi-open, not closed.
Between the other two, the DT 770 Pro are probably the right choice for your use. They are comfortable even for long sessions and have excellent isolation. They are not perfectly neutral; they have slightly generous bass and slightly bright highs, but for piano they work very well and have excellent frequency extension. The Sony ones are less comfortable, they have small earcups and a narrow headband, and they can be bothersome during long sessions.
However, if you want advice outside of the mentioned models, I recommend the AKG K371. They are calibrated to the Harman curve and have a very balanced and transparent sound. They cost more or less the same as the 770s. In this range, they are perhaps the most neutral thing you can get.

Good morning. In my opinion, the cited AKGs are an excellent alternative for those looking for clarity...
Personally, I still prefer the Beyerdynamic approach, especially when playing 20th-century pieces where a bit of body helps a lot.
