Good evening,
on the F key of the third octave, the hammer is slightly rotated along the axis of the shank. The side of the hammer brushes against the E hammer next to it.
The E hammer sometimes gets stuck forward after striking its strings, due to the F hammer.
The piano is a Schimmel upright; is it possible to disassemble the hammer without removing the entire action?
The hammer block is fixed via a front screw located behind the escapement upright. I could try to unscrew it (trying not to break the escapement), but assuming I succeed, what do I do next?
The shank is not just fitted but also glued, so how do I rotate the hammer without breaking the shank?
Thank you,
regards
