I am looking around for a used grand piano.
Before going to see the piano, I ask the owners, both pianists and (some) piano technicians: "Could you please tell me what the average key dip and repetition weight is?".
Nothing easier to trigger panic!
Responses collected:
"Excuse me, what is this about? The piano has a beautiful sound!"
"I am a pianist and I feel these things by touch"
"You can play anything on this keyboard, don't worry"
"Key repetition is achieved with a difference of 2 (two!) grams"
"On this piano you can make all the adjustments you want"
"Fine regulation should be done, but what do you want it to be"
And so on.
In short, it seems like asking for the most complex and mysterious thing in the universe.
