The Teacher

Chiara Bertoglio is a young Italian piano concert artist, musicologist, writer, and teacher.

Having trained under teachers such as Paul Badura Skoda, Konstantin Bogino, Sergio Perticaroli, and having graduated at just sixteen years old, Chiara Bertoglio gave her first recital at age eight, and her first concerto with orchestra at nine; she has subsequently performed in the most important Italian and foreign halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Royal Academy in London, and the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, collaborating with musicians such as L. Fleisher, F. Leitner, M. Rizzi, and many others. A graduate and PhD in musicology, she has written several books and numerous essays for specialized Italian and international journals, participating as a speaker at prestigious conferences (in Oxford, London, Rome, etc.).

Committed to deepening the relationship between music and Christian spirituality, she has published books on the subject; furthermore, she writes non-musical articles and books to spread positive stories of hope. She carries out intense teaching activities privately and in important Italian and foreign institutions, both as a piano teacher and as a musicologist. She has recorded numerous CDs for labels such as Brilliant, Velut Luna, etc.

The Courses

The masterclasses are aimed at young pianists and chamber groups, graduates or students, wishing to deepen their knowledge of solo or chamber repertoire from an instrumental, interpretative, aesthetic, and concert perspective. During the course, it will be possible to dedicate time to personal study and comparison with other musicians (both from a purely musical and a human point of view), to achieve a fruitful exchange of experiences and knowledge. Students will also be invited to listen to the lessons of other participants, in order to create a cordial atmosphere, to learn different perspectives, and to familiarize themselves with a wide spectrum of piano and chamber repertoire.

The teacher is also available to share her cultural/musicological and concert experience, as well as her international training, to help participants develop their own musical personality, and potentially establish a relationship of comparison and exchange that continues beyond the time limits of the course.
