A clarification.

Whether Dr. Civello prefers one solution over another is a matter of little importance. Bill 4822, or 1993 as it may be called, is discussed in Parliament, not in his office.

Regarding the equipollence (and not equivalence or equalization) of the old system: when I and many of you graduated before the establishment of the three-year/two-year programs, that was the highest degree obtainable; therefore, by necessity, alongside holding a five-year high school diploma, it will be worth as much as the Two-Year program, i.e., Level II Academic Diploma. And the current text of the Bill says exactly that, Civello or no Civello.

Whether years may then pass until the approval of a definitive text is another matter entirely, and until then, the old system Diploma will be equipollent to the Three-Year program (Level I Academic Diploma), provided one holds a five-year high school diploma.

I agree with Zedef, but the doubt remains... the courses related to second-level diplomas were supposed to raise the "bar"... that it didn't actually happen is another matter entirely. Let's just say it's a corrective maneuver, also because objectively, if done well, these courses have content superior to the old systems.

Keep in mind this is written by someone who is bitter and who will probably be screwed over by this trick where they did the two-year period and will end up with two second-level diplomas... that are identical
