Hello, what changes if on a damper the red underfelt is only under the damping felt (the white one, to be clear) and not along its entire head?
Leaving the space between the two felt pads with the wood exposed, without underfelt
Is it just an aesthetic issue or from the point of view of vibrations, frequencies, etc., can problems arise?

Look, the felt samples I have at home for dampers (Renner), they all have red underfelt, except for some very long strips. On this, we are waiting for pianoexpert.
No, I really think that the wood should be completely covered. Aesthetically it is not beautiful and I have understood that in the piano, aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand!

I am asking because on upright pianos I have always seen a single strip of bottom felt across the entire damper head and the usual two ribbons at its ends
