in the immense piano market, which seems to me to have been swallowed up by the Japanese refurbished phenomenon with Yamaha followed by Kawai, a few brands are struggling to survive. Others lose their identity through offshoring to China, others invent other brands, protecting them with the By........Bechstein- S&S etc. Etc.
I would say that among uprights, the Schulze & Pollmann 126 P and the Schimmel C120 are certainly fine realities. An instrument that is well-used, tested, and carefully inspected is often by far the better choice. The same applies to luthiery guitars, provided one doesn't want to have a special neck built with measurements suited to the hand, or....to have the name of a beloved lady inlaid. In addition to expensive new Yamahas and some brand-new Kawais, there are also Petrof and Kemble K.
In your opinion, is a 2006 S&P 126 P in perfect state of preservation (verified by a professional technician) for ā¬4,500.00 a good price? New ones can be found for around six thousand six hundred or even six thousand, though it depends on shipping to Sardinia. It seems expensive to me; the technician (sent by me to the private owner's house) valued it at ā¬5,000/5,500, based on a 20% discount on the list price. The tuning technician also worked for several years right in the S&P factory.....
