sooner or later it had to happen: I moved to a new city and due to the apartment/rent (50 m^2) space for an acoustic piano is impossible.
I recently took a trip to a well-stocked store to try out some digital instruments, but I came out quite disappointed.
Only a few Kawai digitals caught my attention, but they had very little about them that was actually digital (they defined them as hybrids, with a mechanism physically identical to that of an acoustic piano and prices exceeding ā¬5,000).
At my parents' house, I am very lucky to have a C. Bechstein grand, a small upright, a harpsichord 8' + 4', and a digital organ (Hauptwerk).
As you can imagine, I would like to have a very flexible instrument, with the possibility of using sampled instruments such as the piano, harpsichord, and organ.
As it stands, do valid instruments exist that allow one to play different types of keyboards (piano, harpsichord, organ)?
If I think about the world of digital organs, today's technology is totally different compared to 10 years ago, with excellent results (sampled organs compared to electronic ones, Hauptwerk technology, or even Viscount's Physis technology, which is very good and customizable).
Even the keyboards and mechanisms themselves (Fatar, to name a few examples) have improved.
As for the digital piano, however, it seemed to me that very little progress has been made.
Do you have any advice or opinions on this?
Unfortunately, not being able to play the piano in these conditions, I fear losing my practice and technique, and then abandoning it completely.
