It sometimes happens that a piece has achieved incredible fame, but we find nothing exceptional during listening.

In your opinion, which are the most overrated pieces...

This topic seems easy but . . . it forces one to reflect.

After thinking about it for a while, I think one could live well without Albinoni's "Adagio" by Remo Giazotto (if Albinoni were a bit more well-known . . .)

And also without Gounod's Ave Maria. The melody might have its charm (not for me).

But what was the need to launch "flowers" floating in a mirror of pure water?

What was the need to ripple that wonderful, indefinite flow of harmony that never asked for a melody to be "finished"?
