Good morning, while practicing p and pp I noticed that with the right pedal depressed, the hammer hits the strings with only the momentum of the key before the escapement trips...
In fact, sometimes if I continue to press the key all the way down, a "rebound effect" is created
Is this defect normal in upright pianos?

perhaps the key dip is too shallow. The regulation is not right. Sellers often exaggerate the lack of dip because the keyboard seems easier (on the first try in the shop)....but it isn't like that when you realize it's all a bit forced. A "good" technician will find the right proportion between dip - hammer-string distance - escapement point - check.

The initial regulations were completely wrong even though the keyboard feel was lighter than today's (as I explained in the other discussion)
It is better now but I have this problem, I have done various tests, I even tried leaving only the felt rosette or removing it and using only the cardboard rosettes as spacers (so we are also talking about exaggerated aftertouches) but nothing changes...

The adjustment also includes turning the small button that delays or advances the escapement

The current situation is the best recreated, but it is not perfect
Is it possible that the escapement goes too far under the capstan?
Maybe a wrong measurement of the felt where the pusher rests was used?

Agreed maestro, I will try putting a 0.5 or 1mm felt shim on a hammer and see if there is a difference
