I have a problem with triplets.

I really don't know how to correctly compose this measure.

In practice, the right hand performs 4 triplets and so far so good.

However, I would like the left hand to respect the tempo exactly as shown in this image.

Only that I don't know if those two large triplets on the LEFT are correct or not!

Sibelius gives me this solution.

Is it correct???

THANK YOU

It seems to me that if you are logged in, you don't see it..

Practically, you have 4 triplets of eighth notes in the right hand and 2 triplets of quarter notes in the left.

If that were the case, only the internal subdivisions are wrong; you must join the eighth notes on the left two by two

Written this way, you can also see it as a 12/8... of course, without irregular groupings

Now I see

If you don't want to change the type of eighth-note grouping, you can also do 2 groups of six eighth notes in the lowest part.

There are many correct solutions; it depends on what you want to do and how you want the rhythmic accents to be handled.

First of all, thank you for your answers.

However, since I am not very experienced... actually, I am quite ignorant regarding theory, I have a few questions for you.

Excuse me Tiger, but how should I proceed? In what sense should I group the eighth notes of the left hand in pairs? Won't the left hand then no longer align with the notes of the right hand as you see them aligned?

So I deduce that the two triplets of the LH written that way are wrong.

For me, it is enough that the LH falls exactly with the notes of the RH just as they appear in the photo.

The fact is that I still haven't understood how to write the LH.

If I do 2 sextuplets of eighth notes, then I have to use duration ties on the notes that are half notes in the photo, right???

I am stumbling

ps: the time signature is 4/4. I hadn't specified it!

In my opinion, Tiger wants to point you toward this path with the aim of using quarter note triplets

Aah... ok. Fantastic!

But nothing changes regarding the timing and synchronization of the DX-SX notes, right??

Thanks Frank. Of course, it changes nothing... it's just a matter of writing.

But allow me, you should know how to solfège those irregular groups ... if you don't know how, fix it immediately.

You're right Tiger... I will start studying solfeggio again. Even though the study texts I have are BONA and Pozzoli 1, and it seems to me they don't have, shall we say... "particular" solfeggio notations, as might be the case mentioned above.

Frank, Kappa, Tiger, Valchiria... Thank you for participating in the discussion.

Thank you for helping me understand!

Until next time.

Probably Pozzoli I is insufficient (there is II, III, etc.)

I would throw away the Bona and orient myself towards Fulgoni's music manual, especially for the rhythmic part. Desidery's volumes are not bad (there is one specific one dedicated to percussion... where you can let loose).
