Hello everyone, I wanted to know the definition of speaker frequency response because I don't quite understand the explanation in the book.

Practically it is a curve; if you post the definition from the book... let's try to derive it.

If you are referring to the +/- 3db ...it means the attenuation at the frequency range extremes.

A loudspeaker receives an input signal. Suppose we insert a signal that contains all frequencies with the same amplitude; how are these reproduced by the loudspeaker? There are physical limits to sound reproduction by loudspeakers. For example, small cones cannot go very low in frequency, which means that the frequency response at low frequencies will not be consistent with the signal sent as input. The ideal loudspeaker is one that, when sending an input signal with constant amplitude for all frequencies, reproduces a totally linear frequency response at the output, comparable to the input signal given the same amplification factor.
