Hi everyone,

I would like to know if you can recommend some virtual shops where I can purchase original blues or jazz sheet music, possibly ones that ship here to Italy! In fact, I can't stand these horrible arrangements that I find in the shops in the Capital anymore!

Hi Maggie, unfortunately "original scores" for jazz and blues probably don't exist. Blues is music that is totally improvised or passed down orally, as is much of jazz. A partial exception is orchestral music for big bands, where arrangements were written. But even in this case, not entirely: for example, Count Basie's orchestra did many "improvised" arrangements guided by the leader's cues!

So if you want to play a bit of jazz, instead of looking for complete scores, arm yourself with patience and try to learn the rudiments of improvisation. It's fun!
