A simple homemade tool to measure escapements and drops. The support base for the mechanics is a perfectly flat glass plate.
However, it is always recommended to measure samples on each section, as it is almost impossible to precisely reproduce the piano soundboard.
Without this, I cannot regulate the escapements; doing it on the piano seems like an impossible task to me.

,,, I also did some tests with an identical aluminum bar (light, rigid, perfect, etc., etc.), but I found it too wide; it can be misleading, especially with hammers that are not new....
the rest all seems perfect

True, in fact I use the edge and my hammers are quite new.
With a few adaptations, you can still use a thin ruler.
My technician always wonders how I manage to make such precise repetitions?
