Chopin - 24 "Pré-études" VERSUS "Etudes" op. 25, before playing as Richter, Kissin, Lang, Trifonov
in which the Frenchman Guillaume Fournier proposes excerpts from his simplified studies. If I understood correctly, these "Pre-studies" are intended for intermediate level students, amateurs, adult students, or anyone who wants to become familiar with Chopin's studies but does not yet have the ability to do so.
He claims that the "Pre-studies" are a sort of "stepping stone" for the real Etudes
I think they do more harm than good if someone intends to study Chopin's studies, the real ones... For one of my students, I would prefer them to start at a slower speed studying the original étude rather than obsessing over positions and fingering from simplified versions.

I agree with TheSimon, to reach the point of playing Chopin's studies, there are already valid paths
Simplified versions, among others, exist on the market and are typically intended for amateurs who rightly want to play the studies with the appropriate accommodations. There is nothing wrong with that, but Chopin's studies are a major milestone for a future pianist; it is useless to mess them up if one wishes to progress in their studies.
