I preferred to open a specific discussion because, in my opinion, this piece is proof that, although it is indisputable that Pärt has his own style, no one forbids expressing oneself in a traditional and refined way.
A piece is beautiful regardless of whether it says something new or not (I am referring to the syntax)... or at least this is what this listening experience, which I want to share, evokes in me. What do you think?

As if we needed anything else Rotore, everyone is free to express themselves as they believe and the search for the "already heard" is a purely Italian fashion. A composer distinguishes themselves above all if they write (as you recognized) in a refined way; obviously they must have something to say but above all, they know the best words and syntax to express it.
Obviously the context of this piece is extremely traditional, so even the margins for maneuver are quite "given"....
I agree, Gerardo. Nowadays, what matters is writing well; inventing other things and persevering in certain experiments can only lead to drifting even further away from what a musician should do.
