It doesn't seem to me that there is anything specific; in some publications, you can find a chapter dedicated to special effects used in contemporary music. However, the term experimental goes in contrast with the term treatise....if there were a treatise, we would no longer be in the field of experimentation. What can help is a lot of research working in contact with skilled instrumentalists.
