Extraordinarily Liszt

Kazimierz Morski. Not exactly my favorite pianist; even on a human level, I found him very arrogant at a competition jury, but it wasn't me playing, it was a friend of mine. He gave me the impression of being very full of himself, but then observing some performances on the internet, he doesn't really seem up to the task of being able to afford such an attitude. I don't have much of a problem with allowing links to other sites to be published, and I think this idea of competition between forums based on banning for links to other forums is stupid; unless they are links for advertising purposes, that is! This doesn't seem to be the case...

I had the opportunity to meet Morski at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome - Faculty of Letters and Philosophy. I don't know him well enough to express peremptory judgments in one sense or another regarding his character (I had the chance to talk to him for about an hour), except for a few small tidbits (like some speeches that, in my opinion, were delusional regarding Badura Skoda, to which, given the particular circumstances, I responded 'A' to his 'A' even though I thought it was not 'B' but actually 'Z'! I acted this way because I recently decided not to argue much with people anymore but simply to turn my back without considering them anymore, an attitude that makes me live more serenely and that makes the people it is directed at extremely angry. Perhaps he had his reasons and there may be motivations that I cannot know) which made me lean in a negative direction; therefore, now that you are making me read this link, I can say I believe quite a bit in what is written. On the artistic level, there are very few of his performances and/or recordings on YouTube; I have never heard him play live, so I cannot express myself in that sense either. I am sorry to be reading this post only now; Albano is 2 km from my house and I would have gladly gone to listen to the concert. It goes without saying, however, that, in my opinion, a "great" person is someone who does not slander their colleagues. As one of our university professors always tells us: "I would never dream of speaking ill of a colleague even if I thought it, because there are many dynamics that I cannot know."

Pianoexpert knows him too; in fact, to tell the truth, he knows him much better than I do since Morski and his wife are dear friends of his, but he seems instead to appreciate him very much, claiming that he learned a Liszt piano and orchestra concerto from scratch in just a few hours (in the morning to play in public in the evening). What can I say? I don't believe in fairy tales; I have expressed this several times even to Paolo, but he seemed very convinced when he told me this thing and he is not the type to tell lies; perhaps, however, it was reported to him, which is why I would be curious to know if he was with him when he accomplished this feat. It remains to be proven whether Morski had not already read it previously, perhaps even as a boy... In this eventuality, the difficulty of the feat would be reduced by quite a lot, and this would be a truth that only the pianist himself can know...

I don't even believe the story about the Liszt concert myself; perhaps a lie was told to Pianoexpert. Many people make up these little stories to show off. I wouldn't believe it even if I saw it, and in that case, to uncover the truth, I would give him some other pieces of equal difficulty by an unknown composer. I am sure that by the end of the evening he wouldn't have even finished reading them, let alone performing them in concert. In the history of great pianists, even Cziffra never did things like that.
