Good evening everyone, I propose a (fairly advanced) reading of Couperin's first two preludes; the second one is fabulous. Unfortunately, I don't have a French harpsichord on hand, but one from 1769 is under construction, though it only started a week ago so there is only the windchest and the keyboard frame with the jack guides ahahahahah, anyway I used the late 1600s Soliyo Grimaldi with Neidhart temperament this time... it's not exactly perfect for Couperin... an old French temperament would be better, but I didn't feel like changing the entire tuning for two small preludes
The only flaw in the recording... the harpsichord sound decays much more rapidly in the recording than normal.
Thanks! I have the paper score in the middle of the Couperin book, but on Petrucci I am sure at least the first printing of the preludes can be found... but the reading is not very easy.. wait let me check
Never mind, you can download the curated Guin... version It is correct, I just checked it, but I'll warn you right away, they are harpsichord pieces and almost always don't sound very good on the piano
