I was wondering if there is a digital piano that can be transported, and at the same time does not make professionals wrinkle (too much) their noses.
Purpose: opera aria concerts in small towns and municipal halls not equipped with instruments.
Certainly, I would never propose a song cycle on this type of piano, but for opera arias it is possible, I believe, or not?
I would like to hear the opinion of my fellow professional pianists along with some purchasing advice. Budget 700 euros max. No need for any kind of rhythms, accompaniments, or strange light music stuff, just piano.
The need arises from the fact that lately I have been presented with occasions that are not public like those I am used to participating in (and where there is a strict requirement for an acoustic piano), but private or within the scope of small-scale events in small towns. I would like to avoid being sent packing with disdain by pianists, considering that some of them are concert performers of a certain level. In short, if they send me packing, let them at least do it without disdain ...
Hi, iBob..keep in mind that many performances seen during these periods leave much to be desired and indeed.. seeing a grand piano and a singer immediately makes an impression... people, to put it bluntly, already prepare themselves thinking... this is a serious concert.
If the repertoire you tackle and the performance practice do not leave much to be desired (I mean if the things you set up are of quality) in my opinion, with a serious and well-amplified digital piano, it could work.
Many models are fine, but 700 euros might be tight.. maybe you can find something on the used market.
perhaps wait for Simon's comment, as he is very well-informed about digital pianos. il problem is common to many, though.. having quality combined with portability.. and why not.. "LIGHTNESS" of the instrument added to the quality
i don't think it's impossible... I would be optimistic.

I highly recommend the new Casio Privia PX, with prices starting from just over 500 euros; furthermore, they are lightweight, the Privia PX 160 model weighs only 11 kg: personally, if I were to purchase one, I would aim for the PX 360 model, you can find it on this site for 849 Euro.
